Chelsea (Harris) Soda

Chelsea (Harris) Soda comes to Sankaty Head Golf Club from Des Moines, Iowa. She grew up in Illinois and attended University High School in Bloomington, where she led The Pioneers to three state championships. Chelsea went on to the University of Iowa and was the leading scorer for the Hawkeyes for three straight years. During her senior season, she recorded a top-ten finish at the Big Ten Championships.

 

Shortly after graduating in 2012, she qualified for and played in the 2013 US Women’s Open at Sebonack. After competing at LPGA Q-School, Chelsea realized her passion for teaching, coaching and growing the game of golf. She became the assistant women’s golf coach at Illinois State University in 2014. During her time at ISU she also continued her education, earning a Masters of Science degree from the School of Kinesiology & Recreation. Upon graduation, she moved to Des Moines where she transitioned into another facet of the golf industry becoming an assistant golf professional at Echo Valley Country Club. During her time at EVCC, she organized and executed both ladies and juniors’ events.

Chelsea is a successful instructor for golfers of all skill levels. Her continuing education includes certifications by US Kids Golf and the Titleist Performance Institute. Chelsea is currently working to become a Class A PGA Professional.
