Junior Golf Point System
For each clinic & junior golf event attended this season, juniors will earn points. Points are granted and may be taken away at the discretion of the Golf Professional Staff based on a junior golfer’s attitude, appearance, and effort. The amount of points earned will also advance them to different levels of Junior Golf Tours and give them a chance to be named our Junior Golfer of the Year. Points are based on:

• Participation in clinics (2 points each)
• Completion of each Operation36 Division (3 points each)
• Positive learning behavior & skill achievement at each clinic (Points at discretion of instructor)
• Attending a PGA Junior League Practice (2 points each)
• Playing in a PGA Junior League Match (3 points)
• Participation in our July Junior Camp (3 points)
• Participation in our July Junior Skills Challenge (3 points)
• Place finished in the Skills Challenge (based on participation)
• Participation in our Junior Club Championship (5 points)
• Place finished in the Junior Club Championship (based on age divisions)
2018 SANKATY HEAD JUNIOR GOLF TOUR WINNERS
• One junior from each tour will be elected as that level’s winner
• Based on participation within our Junior Golf Program, the junior with the most points will be elected
2018 JUNIOR GOLFER OF THE YEAR
The winner of this award will be elected by the professional staff. Factors considered will be overall points, improvement of skills throughout the season, sportsmanship, overall passion for golf, and the encouragement of other golfers. The Sankaty Head Junior Golfer of the Year will be recognized on a perpetual plaque that remains standing in the clubhouse. Additionally, they will receive club-wide recognition and the Sankaty Head Junior Golf Medal.
How High Will Your Junior Climb our Junior Golf Achievement Lighthouse?
LEVEL 1: LIGHTHOUSE TOUR
To become a Lighthouse Tour Member, each junior must do the following:
• Achieve 10 points or more
• Attend at least 1 Learn About Golf Day clinic
• Attend at least 1 Golf Course Discovery Day Clinic
• Play one hole of golf (from modified tees) in under 18 minutes
• Complete Level 1 US Kids Golf Quiz
• Arrive each day in appropriate golf attire
Rewards
• Lighthouse Tour Junior Golf Towel
• Score Keeper Beads
• The privilege to practice unattended by an adult
• Recognition on our Junior Achievement Board
LEVEL 2: BEACON TOUR
To become a Beacon Tour Member, each junior must do the following:
• Be a Lighthouse Tour Member in good standing
• Achieve 20 points or more
• Play 6 holes of golf in 1 hour or less (from modified tees)
• Complete the Orange Division of Opertaion36
• Complete a Rules of Golf Quiz
• Arrive each day in appropriate golf attire
• Keep equipment organized and clean (subject to spot checks)
Rewards:
• Golf Hat
• Bag Tag
LEVEL 3: CERTIFIED JUNIOR SANKATY GOLFER
To become a Certified Junior Sankaty Golfer, each junior must do the following:
• Be a Beacon Tour Member in good standing
• Achieve 40 points or more
• Play 9 holes of golf in 2 hours or less (from modified tees)
• Complete the Green Division of Operatino36 or Higher
• Arrive each day in appropriate golf attire
• Keep equipment organized and clean (subject to spot checks)
Rewards:
• Receive the Certified Junior Sankaty Golfer Certificate
• A Custom Driver Headcover
• Photo and recognition on our Junior Achievement Board
• The privilege to play unattended by an adult
